Shades of Blue

Shades of Blue

Blue is one of my favorite colors. In all honesty, you have NO idea how much I love blue. Black is also great, but at the same time, there’s something special about blue that I love! In my room at my home, I’ve got a wall in my house that is blue that I love and asked for when it was finally time to redo my room after 15 years of a little kid room. There are so many different shades of blue and I love playing around with all of the shades and making them work to my advantage.

I wore this coat in my Banana Republic post and it is safe to say that it has become one of my favorite coats to date! I wear this all the time because it is a great layering piece when it comes to my looks. It’s this beautiful shade of navy blue that can almost pass for black. It’s something that I truly enjoy about this coat. I can pair it with just about anything in my wardrobe and it keeps me warm and cozy when it comes to battling the occasional cold that comes around Atlanta.Shades of Blue

Playing with colors doesn’t have to be hard. Trust me, when you stick with all-black for a long time, it seems like the hardest thing in the world. Nothing is ever accomplished without trying. This suede skirt has been worn so many times. At the same time, pairing it with this striped sweater from Banana Republic makes it look brand new. I never thought of pairing stripes with suede. I’m very excited to try this combination in the future. Playing with prints and textures is one of my favorite things about fashion and in 2017, I’m excited to do this a lot more!

I’ve probably said this once or twice before, but Joie has the best heels ever! I’ve never had a more comfortable pair of heels in my life. That’s why they keep popping up on the blog! The heel isn’t too high, so I can walk in them. At the same time, this slight platform does not look like anything, but it makes walking in these heels more than bearable. I can dance the night away in these shoes and these look just as stylish as the day I bought them. They’re black shoes, so they match the stripes of my turtleneck, helping to pull the entire look together.

Wearing blue in different shades does not have to be hard, trust me. People often are told that blue and black don’t mix and mixing shades is hard. In all honesty, it doesn’t have to be, so don’t overthink it! Fashion is something to play around with, especially in the new year! Don’t sell yourself short because you think you can’t pull it off. Just know that you can pull everything off if you want to and have the confidence to do so. Confidence is key, so just take advantage of that and wear whatever you want, when you want!
