My Year in Review

2015. What a year that it’s been!! New Year’s Eve arrived! Today, I wanted to take a look back at my year in review and tell you all a bit about it. I started the year off on a Blogspot blog with a crazy theme where I made most of the graphics besides the header myself. I just started my Youtube channel and I blogged weekly about beauty, apps and of course, fashion. Then came February and my birthday. I turned 18 (WHOOOO) and decided that I needed to look into a change.

I spent the next 3 months vlogging, traveling, and reconfiguring my blog. Truly, I kept it all the same until I switched to WordPress. It’s simple to say that I messed up a bit with the WordPress switching, especially since I had 0 clue what I was doing. Originally, I switched to WordPress.com (which is free whoo). Then, I realized this wasn’t enough. So in May after I graduated (FINALLY aka one of my top moments of the year!), I contacted the amazing Kelsey Grauke who designed the blog design you see today!! And that my friends is when it all began.

For basically the entire month of June, my blog was down so I could make it perfect. I didn’t want anyone to see it until it was done and I needed some time to focus on other things going on in my life. I’m glad I took that break because when I came back, I was fresh, happy, relaxed, and ready to bring some amazing content to this blog. For the next 2 months, I felt like something was wrong or missing rather. I couldn’t put my finger on it until August, when I realized that it was my name.

For any new followers or readers, I used the blog name “The Style Selections” from September 2013  to about August or September of 2015! I’d been having SEO problems because there are a couple of others with similar names. That’s how I knew that I needed a change. I had no clue what I was going to call it. Then one day, I was trying on hats. I realized that I should use a piece of clothing or accessory that speaks to me. Hats definitely do that for me! Thus “The Hat Logic” was born!

It’s been a whirlwind year. Yet, all it’s done is make me more excited for all of the fun that 2016 will bring me!!! Happy New Year Everyone!! xx
