Designer Spotlight: Karl Lagerfeld

Dare I say it, but when people think about Chanel, they think about Karl Lagerfeld just as much as they think about Coco Chanel. Karl has changed the image of so much since taking over as head designer of the brand in 1983, but hey, change is pretty good!

From using models ranging from Cara Delevigne, Kendall Jenner, and Gemma Ward, being best friends with Rihanna and Anna Wintour, and Karl has modernized and rebranded every place that he works as head designer for. He currently serves as chief of design for Fendi, Chanel, and his own label Karl Lagerfeld. I absolutely adored his SS15 collection with Chanel (aka the revolution collection) because it embodied everything I think about when I think of Karl. Sass, class, and textures. Karl Lagerfeld isn’t just a fashion designer.

He’s an innovator, photographer, artist, and personality. There are probably not many people who know the ins and outs of the fashion industry as well as he does, so so much love and respect to him. And bonus, he’s got his own signature style (aka white shirt, black suit/pants, black shoes, and super Karl-esque shades) and a cat!
