6 Tips to Balance School Vs. Blogging

School vs. Blogging. For some people (like me) your blog is your job, your life, and your passion. Now the main people that you see on social media like Chiara Ferragni, Aimee Song, and Chriselle Lim are all well out of college, and have been for some time now! For new bloggers, or people just in need of some tips to help them focus on life, this blog post may truly come in handy! I wish I had help or someone to tell me all of these things now. So, I’m sharing how to balance school vs. blogging because it’s hard! 

Scheduling is The Best Thing You Can Do

The ability to to schedule blog posts is one of my favourite tools to use. I don’t know what I’d do without this tool because it really is a lifesaver. If I have a class at 1PM, I can easily set it up the night before and then boom, I’m ready to go for the next day!

Try to Plan a Month in Advance

At the beginning of every month, I write out my schedule for the month. Everything from videos to blog posts is charted out at the beginning of each month, which means that when it comes down to the weekend, all I have to do is schedule everything for the week and only this week.

School Takes Precedence, Always Remember That

 I don’t know how much I’ve had to tell myself, but school takes precedence. Yes I may stay up at 2 am and finish a blog post, but just know that I finish my essays earlier on, no matter what. I’m at school and pay for it, so I’m going to get the most out of it where I can!

Create A Schedule, but Don’t Beat Yourself Up if It Doesn’t Work Out

This almost bounces off of number 2, but that schedule I set up at the beginning of the month isn’t always binding. There are times when I just don’t have the time to film a video or make a post. Each time, I come back better than ever. Taking a break doesn’t just mean a month long break, but for for me, even a day off is a break for me!

Shoot Multiple Times in One Weekend

Shooting multiple looks at once is such a great thing. I read an article by Tilden from To Be Bright about how she manages to post 5+ looks. This goes for everything that I do. I will schedule or shoot multiple looks at one time. Then I have a long repertoire of looks to post during the week!

Just Have Fun!

Having a job doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun. Same thing with a blog. I know there are many times when I just want to stay inside and write. I need to have fun with my life so then I have fun ideas to post on the blog! Have fun with your blog and school, you never know what good will come of it!
