5 Tips For Better Flatlays
As promised, I’m back and better after my little break! I’m finally done for the rest of the year, so you won’t believe how much time I have just to explore and have some fun times. I’m starting off with some serious photo tips to improve your flatly game! I love doing a good flatly for my IG every so often, but now I want to share my thoughts and tricks with you! My 5 Tips For Better Flatlays are super easy for beginners to pros to follow, so enjoy!
1.Get up high!
Getting up high is a benefit of flatlays and gives a new perspective to the photos. This new perspective is a very good thing to have when exploring different styles and often helps you capture the entirety of the objects you’re shooting.
2. If you’re inside, contact paper is your new best friend
I LOVE contact paper. I bought a marble roll and a white roll to cover my desk and it’s the best decision of my life! It really helps create a nice and neutral background for all of the shots and is quite easy to use.
3. Make use of what you have!
You don’t have to go out and buy a bunch of roses to make your flatlays shine. I like using flowers when I get them or my old makeup jars with a tiny Diptyque candle and reusing these items in many flatlays, but new ways. You don’t have to buy new things every time you buy new items every time you do a flat lay, so explore your closet or accessories bin and find what you love.
4. Find your style: organized or disarray.
Most people choose between the different styles, but play with both. Some people find that having everything super organized strikes them, but for others having everything strewn about in an unorganized manner is perfect for them. Play around with both because they require different things, but find which style you like most.
5. Try and use Natural Light
Natural light is so nice for flatlays! You can make great compositions and take out a lot of the editing that you may need to do in post-production by using natural light. It may bring a time constraint on your shooting time, but it makes for great shoots in the end.
I really do hope these tips have helped and if they did, let me know in the comments below with which you like or any other tips that you may have. Also, you should show some love on my Bloglovin page!
